Create a vibrant yarn artwork inspired by Mexican folk art traditions passed down through generations of family practice. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll use colorful yarn and adhesive to build bold patterns and imagery while exploring texture, color, and personal symbolism.
Rather than replicating traditional sacred imagery, this workshop invites participants to create their own contemporary designs inspired by the spirit of the tradition. The focus is on experimentation, creativity, and learning a technique that blends drawing, collage, and fiber art.
No prior art experience is needed.
Community Note:
A portion of proceeds from this workshop will be donated to the New Haven Immigrants Coalition in support of their anti-ICE community efforts.
