Build up your paper stash with a collection of colorful, one-of-a-kind prints made entirely by you. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the basics of gel plate monoprinting while experimenting with paint, texture, layering, and found materials to create papers perfect for junk journals, collage, and mixed-media projects. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a stack of handmade papers to take home and use in your future creative projects, along with the skills and confidence to keep making your own. Come ready to play, experiment, and make some really good paper.

What You’ll Do

During this workshop, you’ll explore:

The basics of gel plate monoprinting and how the process works
Creating layers, textures, and patterns with paint and everyday materials
Experimenting with stencils, found objects, mark-making tools, and other textures
Building a stash of unique printed papers to use in junk journals, collage, and mixed-media projects
Playing with color, layering, and composition without worrying about making a “perfect” print
Different ways to cut, tear, layer, and incorporate your prints into future projects

A selection of paints, papers, and printing materials

Just bring yourself — everything else is provided.

Good to Know

This is a playful, process-focused workshop for anyone who loves paper, collage, junk journaling, or collecting little bits of ephemera.

There’s no need to have a finished project in mind. The goal is to experiment, make a mess of some paper, and leave with a stack of one-of-a-kind prints you can use later.

Junk journalers, collage artists, paper hoarders, and anyone who has ever said “I could totally use this someday” are welcome.

Tickets are non-refundable, but if you can’t attend, you may transfer your ticket to someone else. Please contact us at least 48 hours in advance to arrange a transfer.
