New Haven After Dark: A Haunted Journal Workshop

Spend an evening exploring the stranger side of New Haven with Boo Haven. While Boo Haven shares ghost stories, local legends, and haunted history from around the Elm City, you’ll decorate your own pocket journal with eerie papers, images, and ephemera.

Listen to the stories, work on your journal, and settle in for an evening of New Haven’s darker history and creative making.

What You’ll Do

During this workshop, participants will:

• Hear ghost stories and local legends from around New Haven

• Learn about some of the city’s haunted history and mysterious places

• Decorate a pocket journal using Halloween-inspired papers and ephemera

• Experiment with collage, layering, and other decorative techniques

• Create a finished pocket journal to take home

Skill Level: Beginner

Age: 16+ recommended

Just bring yourself — everything else is provided.

Good to Know

• No previous crafting or journaling experience is needed.

• The storytelling and journal decorating will take place throughout the workshop, so you can listen while you create.

• Space is limited to keep the workshop hands-on and comfortable.

• We’ll be working with paper, glue, and other craft materials, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.
