Dead Letters: A Halloween Junk Journal Workshop

Create a haunted little archive of your own in this Halloween-themed junk journal workshop. You’ll learn to create and bind your own a one-of-a-kind journal filled with vintage-inspired papers, mysterious letters, found ephemera, scraps, and other wonderfully strange details.

Whether you’re an experienced journaler or have never made one before, you’ll have plenty of materials to experiment with and plenty of room to make it your own.

What You’ll Do

During this workshop, participants will:

• Create, bind, and decorate a Halloween-themed junk journal

• Learn the basics of assembling pages and creating a cohesive journal

• Layer papers, envelopes, images, and found ephemera

• Create pockets, tuck spots, and other interactive details

• Experiment with composition, texture, and layering

• Leave with a finished journal ready for your own collections, notes, and curiosities

Just bring yourself — everything else is provided.

Good to Know

• No previous junk journaling or bookmaking experience is needed.

• Your journal will be designed to be personal and imperfect, so there’s no “right” way to make it.

• Space is limited to keep the workshop hands-on and supportive.

• We’ll be working with paper, glue, ink, and other craft materials, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.
